People who go to the Manx Museum Library also use films from the LDS to look up entries. These films are from copies of the registers made in the early 1900s (1911?).
The staff don't usually produce the original registers because of wear and tear.

You can buy a copy of an entry from the Registry (probably handwritten by staff - not the original). See "Contacts" on: www.gov.im/registries/general/civilregistry/.
