An extract from "Duke Street and Market Place Douglas Past and Reminiscent" by W.Gell. 'Twas here old Kewley, better ends to suit, Rschewed the needle for the flower and fruit; Perpetuated in a double stand by his descendants in the "dear old Strand."
William Kewley, my grt grt grandfather was a tailor in Duke Street and this obviously refers to him but can anyone shed any light on what sounds like a greengrocer's shop and his decendants??
Thanks Millie
