Hi
Just to let the board know I have had success in finding Catherine Isabella Cowley born 1876 she was my gt grandmother
I found her 1881 & 1891 but lost her1901
she had an illegitimate daughter Olive Cowley born Douglas 1900 but then married John William Kench Stone 1902 Douglas
I have found her in 1911 census in Manchester
John William Stone age 34 Electrician Barrow in Furness
Catherine Stone age 33 Douglas
Emily Cowley age 42 Cousin Douglas
Olive Stone age 11 Douglas
Gladys Stone age 9 Douglas
Edith Stone age 8 Manchester
Constance Ivy Stone age 7 Manchester
Violet Evelyn Stone age 2 Manchester
I think I might have found a further birth in 1912 for John WC Stone (William Cowley?)
I had no idea my grandmother Olive had any other siblings
It would seem Olive must have moved back to the Isle of Man as she married there in 1923
and had my dad and his two sisters the youngest born in 1926 they must have moved back to Manchester sometime between then and 1947 because my dads demob papers had a Manchester address
I would not have found this info if I hadn't been eavesdropping at my local Family History Centre
I overheard 2 ladies talking about a Manchester Website on enquiring they told me it was Manchester Cemeteries I had never heard of it
I searched for Olive Mitchell knowing her date of death and to my amazement buried in the same plot was Walter Milner & Catherine Isabella Milner at first it didn't register but I remembered a receipt I have (from dads stuff)for a funeral in 1947 for a Walter Milner never quite knew why he would have it
Now I know why because Catherine was widowed sep 1923 and married Walter Sep 1924 3months before my dad was born
So Walter was his grandad
Hope you don't mind but I was so excited, just had to tell someone
Lesley
