Hi Mary,
Thanks for the information, much appreciated. In relation to Augusta's marriage to Francis Harrison her father is listed as George A Cavendish, Naval Officer - usually when a father's name is listed without having deceased next to it means they are alive. Do you think George was alive when Augusta married Francis? Also both Francis and his father are listed as gentleman... does this mean they were wealthy?
I know that John James Gell was employing Augusta as a governess in 1871 census of Isle of Man and in 1891 Census Jane E Craine is listed as 35 and a visitor staying with Augusta who is a widow. Any idea when Francis Snr died?
Augusta's two other children, Elizabeth Henrietta Harrison and Augusta Adeline Harrison are listed in 1881 and 1891 census as being born in Lezayre, Isle of Man. Can't find any of them in 1901 Census apart from Francis Henry Harrison who has married Annie Frost, not sure when, but they have a child Francis Cavendish Harrison bapt: 6.5.1898 Ballaugh. Francis is listed as a farmer but of what I have no idea, he has a servant and is an employer.
