My great grandfather was John Smith (b abt 1864 in Ramsey, IOM), at the end of his career he was the Chief Fire Officer in Ramsey (1928-1942).

His wife was Martha (nee Jenkins, b abt 1870).

They had 4 four children :
Martha Ann ("Annie", b abt 1890)
Harry (b abt 1892)
John Thomas (my grandfather, b 1894, d 1964)
Ada (b abt 1897).

My great grandfather and his siblings were all born in the IOM :
John A. (b abt 1862 in Ramsey)
John (my ggrandfather born in Ramsey)
Thomas (b abt 1865 in Ramsey)
Maria A. (b abt 1866 in Lezayre)
Clara (b abt 1868 in Lezayre)

It looks like the inscriptions mentioned in this thread could be some of my ancestors.
