I thought it may have been obliterated by the railway (which is not shown on the 25 inch plans as it predates the railway of 1873) - didn't think of checking the slightly later 1" map which had the railways added - the 7th ed leisure map was actually very good as it used the 1898 revision of the 6" map as its base (though roads were added in a way that obliterated some details) which was then photo reduced to 2.5" map. Not sure however that it lay on the railway line but a short distance to the south.
It was there in the 1851 census as I was attempting to plot the route the enumerator followed - in the 1881 census there still appears to be the farmhouse plus another ag lab's cottage..
