Albray / De Albray / De Albrey

Hi everyone, I've been researching a family surname of Albray. It's origins seem very strange. The first reference I have so far is the birth of Rhoda Allberry in 1843, then her brother James Aldbury 1846 and Henry Aubery 1847. Rhoda and James were chr with the surname Aubrey, and Henry with the surname Albury. In 1851 census the family name was Allbray, but the 2nd l was dropped during the 1860s. With George Allbray's only known census entry being 1851 with a virtually illegible birthplace, tracking this family has been far from easy. His wife(?) to be in 1841 had a lodger George Williams, and in 1861 there was no George and her and her chidlrens' surname was now Williams. I recently heard that the family originated from the IoM and the surname was originally De Albray or De Albrey. Can anyone shed any light at all on the existence of such a name on the IoM please? George was born circa 1798.Thanks for any help or suggestions. http://www.albray.co.uk
