David - it's great to think I might have helped by posting the message! One of my Manx family names is Quine, from Onchan, but there were many Quine families in the Onchan/Lonan parishes and I haven't tied them in yet.
On my English side (my father's side) I have Goulden/Golding in the Bucks/Berks area in the early 19th century... and marrying into my Wiltshire Thick line....
