Re: CRAIGE FARM
In Response To: Re: CRAIGE FARM ()

Since posting my response I have rediscovered Sue Pedersen's posting on the Manx Genealogy Bulletin Board of 11 June 2000. I am sure Sue will not mind me re-publishing this:

Is anyone trying to work out which SAYLE daughter married into which CORLET family during the 1700s?
Thomas SAYLE of the Craig in Andreas, and Alice Sayle his wife, dictated a will on 29 March 1797 naming:
[1] their daughter Ellinor wife of Thomas CORLET of Lezayre, and Ellinor's children Thomas, John, Robert, William, and James Corlet;
[2] their daughter Jane the wife of John CORLET and her daughter Elizabeth;
[3] their daughter Joney the wife of John CORLET of the Kella in Lezayre, and her three sons John, Thomas, and William.

They also named "our sister" Mary QUAY of Jurby and her daughter Catherine.
Their son and heir was Thomas SAYLE.

[end of Sue's posting]

Putting this together with Creer we have

[3] The Kella families tally.
[2] Creer has Jane (1766-1837) m John Corlett, CP, Berrag (1766-1801) [Constance R did not pick up this one].
[1] By process of elimination Elinor S and Thomas C must be the parents of Robert C (ca.1795-ca.1860) given by Creer, and indeed, Sue lists a Robert among the children.
