I notice that my family name Angliss and its variants Anglish and Anglis are seen in Manx records and is mentioned in an article on Manx names although it says it is not of Manx origin. I always thought the name was just a corruption of the Norman French for English. Would love to know how it ended up on the Isle of Man. Can anyone elucidate?
