I would appreciate any information that anyone may have about the 19th century Dumbell family on the Isle of Man, to whom I believe I am related, via my grandfather, John Dumbell, whose father, who died when John was only a small boy, and was 30 years older than JOhn's mother (a member of the Yorkshire Backhouse family)was born around 1819, was an early photographer and a publisher in the north of England and came originally, I understand, from the Isle of Man.
