Manx Soldier

While I was looking through the LDS filmed records pf WW1 soldiers for my uncle Thomas William Cowell I came across the discharge recprds of William Cowell from Santon. He volunteered for army service and was examined on 5th Dec 1898, his age is given as 19 1/2 and his occupation looks to be that of a farm servant
(the film is difficult to read in parts) He was 5' 31/4'' tall, scar in middle of forehead. He joined the Royal Irish Fusiliers on 19th Dec 1898 and was given the number 6420. He was atvarious times at Colchester, Natal and Dublin
He was eventually discharged on medical grounds at Armagh with a condition described as tubercular lung. There is a lot more information on the film concerning him, but this brief extract may be of help to some one.
