Do you have a place-name or general locality? William Henry Rowe was Captain of the Laxey mines for much of the second half of C19. By 1894 - see Frances Coakley's site - he was living in Baldrine and my great grandfather John Killip was Captain.

If this is the right family then I'm pretty certain that Manx National Heritage library will have documents and newspapers: I know they have the commemorative jug presented to Rowe.
