The Music and Tourism Project is based at the Centre for Manx Studies in Douglas, Isle of Man. We want to contact people who were involved either directly by performing or indirectly by attending any of the many musical events put on for tourists in the Isle of Man. Our date span is 1870 -1970 but maybe you can remember stories your relatives told you about seeing particular performers, or even performing alongside professionals in the heady days when the visitor was spoilt for choice about where to go to be entertained. By popular music we include dances, concerts and all the little bands that played in the hotels along Douglas Promenade.
