I believe the National Archives have microfilms of passenger lists for the period. These are available, I think free, through your local library system. I have not personally used the service (my local library has no film readers) but a better equipped friend found my great-grandparents arrival in 1919. I did not know the name of the ship but was able to narrow the search period to 6 months.
Halifax seems to have been the more common landing place, then by train.
