RE Gregory Cowell. I don't know what a Manx family would be doing in Essex at that time (1750). can only presume that if Cowell is a Manx name that the name of Gregory would come from his Mother's side of the family. Also that for the family to be there at Essex at that time they would have been in England quite awhile before that. Was there very much travelling done between England and the Isle of Man in those years? I would be interested to know. Many thanks for youe help.
