was hoping someone could answer a question on which Douglas Census I need to look in/order to check an ancester (I've never referred to a census before ).

I'd assumed the 1881 indexes (ref 7a & 7b) shows the persons name and a reference to the district they lived in (7c or 7d). The district books then show the full entry for their house.

Is this correct ?

I'm trying to trace William Telford who I believe lived in Edwards Lane or Big Well Lane.
