There are several books written by Palmer (Bits (?) of Old Peel is probably easiest to get as was a recent paperback)
Two others deal with Peel (one is called Creg Mallin - the other I forget but can check up - if you are in Peel on Saturday morning look in at Alan Kelly's he often has one or both secondhand - they tend to give quite good family gossip especially re 19th C).
There was another book (very poorly printed) giving extracts from Peel City Guardian but that may be more difficult to get
