My father is Thomas James Quayle IV, his father was Phillip Polk Quayle who father was Thomas James Quayle II, who father was Thomas James Quayle I. T.J. Quayle I came over from the Isle of Man to the U.S. in 1827 and started a shipbuilding business. Eventually he became the most prominent shipbuilder on the Great Lakes and was known for pioneering the development of the wooden propeller.
