I have read in a reply to a previous message that Smith is an uncommon name on the island. Would anyone be able to help me? My grandmother was called Jane Smith (originally Carr from Liverpool I believe), and my grandfather I think was called Tommy Smith ('Donna' Smith) and lived their time in Ramsey. He spent his time in the Merchant Navy. I would be most interested if anyone would be able to help. I have already arranged to a trip to visit my immediate relatives, but any information on my grandparents would be gratefully received. Thanks
