Have you looked on the Manx Genealogy Bulletin Board? on 24th September 2000, Diane Dills at prairiesis@yahoo.ca left a lengthy message regards Elphinstone the Circus and theatre family. I met them, by coincidence at the Isle of Man General Registry, when I was doing some research, and where the registrar asked me if I knew the answer to one of their questions. I didn't, but made some enquiries for them, and emiled the answers on. I didn't receive an acknowledgement, but can only assume the e-mail address is correct. I suggest that you get in touch with them as they appear to have carried out a lot of Elphinstone research here.

The name Pratt on the message board should in fact be Platt, and these people live in Onchan, Isle of Man. If you can use the BT Phone directory on-line, then you will be able to get the address and phone number. Mr. Platt is a retired senior policeman. You should be able to find his wife, who I believe, may be a relative of yours.
